Dignity At Work
EDM number 816 in 2001-02, proposed by Valerie Davey on 06/02/2002.
That this House believes that every employee should have the right to dignity at work; welcomes the benefits for employees of the Government's measures since 1997, especially those contained within the Employment Relations Act 1999; notes with concern, however, the high level of bullying reported in the UMIST research document 'Destructive Conflict and Bullying at Work' published in November 2000; supports the ongoing campaign by Amicus to highlight the issue; recognises the harm bullying causes employees, employers and the economy; and calls upon the Government to support measures to reduce bullying in the workplace.
