Growth Of British Venture Capital Industry

That this House notes that according to a recent report by the British Venture Capital Association, private equity backed companies over the last five years have increased sales and exports by an average of 27 per cent. per annum and investments by 24 per cent. per annum; notes that private equity backed firms employ 2.7 million people and pay ú26.8 billion of taxes each year; and recognises private equity as a vital supporter of innovation, enterprise and economic growth.
