ST DAVID'S DAY HOLIDAY IN WALES

That this House congratulates St David's City Council on their research in Wales on support for a national holiday on St David's Day each year; notes the overwhelming support and enthusiasm for a St David's Day national holiday in Wales, with 428 Community Councils in Wales, 28 NAW Members, 3 MEPs from Wales, 11 Welsh MP's and various Welsh national organisations giving their support; and calls upon the Department of Trade and Industry, as the Department responsible for determining national holidays in the United Kingdom, to consider the views of this substantial body of Welsh opinion and consult on making 1st March an annual national holiday in Wales.
