Elder Abuse

EDM number 66 in 2001-02, proposed by Paul Flynn on 02/07/2001.

That this House is alarmed by the increasing evidence of the abuse of the elderly in residential homes; calls for improved independent surveillance on instances of physical abuse, neglect and the over-prescription of neuroleptic drugs; and recognises the great value of the campaign by Age Concern to expose the large scale of abuse of the defenceless elderly.

This motion has been signed by a total of 65 MPs.
