Image Of Professional Football

EDM number 625 in 2001-02, proposed by Bob Russell on 08/01/2002.

That this House registers its dismay at the regular accounts of anti-social behaviour by a minority of professional footballers and other associated with the professional game; believes that such behaviour, both on and off the pitch, reflects unfairly on the majority of footballers and officials; and calls upon the Professional Footballers Association, the Football Association and the Football League to take immediate financial and disciplinary action against those who tarnish football's image.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
