Consignia
EDM number 581 in 2001-02, proposed by Mike Weir on 13/12/2001.
That this House deplores the redundancies announced by Consignia in the most callous manner to a House of Commons Committee instead of directly to the staff and their representatives; demands assurances that there will be no compulsory redundancies and guarantees on the quality of service; and notes that these job losses will damage the Post Office across Scotland and all the people who depend upon it and will particularly jeopardise the future of post offices that serve our rural areas and undermine these already fragile communities.
This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
