Recall Of Parliament
EDM number 569 in 2001-02, proposed by Alan Meale on 12/12/2001.
That this House welcomes the direction of the Leader of the House's modernisation proposals, which seek to increase the number of sitting days in Parliament; suggests that such a strategy would be best served if aligned to Parliament's own catering staff's work schedules, which includes them working throughout the Christmas recess on all days other than public holidays; and urges the Prime Minister to recall Parliament immediately after Boxing Day, in order not to waste honourable Members' valuable time, nor the opportunity to witness the continued dedication and skills of the House's loyal employees.
This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
