Teespride Campaign

EDM number 523 in 2001-02, proposed by Ashok Kumar on 05/12/2001.

That this House welcomes the launch of the 'Teespride' campaign and its aim of highlighting all that is good and positive about the Tees Valley; believes that this frequently neglected part of Britain has some of the finest scenery in the country and still plays a crucial role in the creation of the nation's economic wealth; hopes this campaign will create a truer estimation of the area's value to the country as a whole and lead to more people coming to the area to appreciate its many merits; and congratulates the Evening Gazette for initiating this campaign to ensure Tees Valley regains its rightful place as one of the most significant parts of Great Britain.
