The Launch Of The Wto Doha Round

EDM number 417 in 2001-02, proposed by Tony Colman on 14/11/2001.

That this House congratulates the 142 members of the World Trade Organisation on reaching agreement in Doha on a new round; notes that as a 'one member, one vote' international institution, the WTO is a vanguard of global governance; and looks forward to the implementation of new agreements which are likely to benefit developing countries across the world, through for example, the reduction of agricultural subsidies in rich countries; and the restatement of the TRIPs agreement which ensures poor countries can access cheap medicines in public health emergencies in this New Deal for the Global Economy.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
