Premier League And The Professional Footballers Association
EDM number 322 in 2001-02, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 29/10/2001.
That this House notes with concern the current dispute between the Professional Footballers Association and the Premier League over the share of television revenue; understands and shares the concerns of the PFA given that they would see a major reduction in revenue leading to a major shortfall on the current expenditure of ú12 million each year which is directed at worthy causes such as footballer welfare schemes, funding junior football and anti-racism; and calls on the Minister of Sport to mediate to prevent a loss of football matches through strike action.
