Grampian Foods
EDM number 274 in 2001-02, proposed by John Barrett on 19/10/2001.
That this House notes with concern the decision of Grampian Foods to make over one third of its workforce at its Newbridge operation redundant, following a reduction in its airline and ready meal business; recognises the link between the job losses and the recent fall in airline passenger numbers; following the terrible events in the United States of America on 11th September; and calls on the UK Government, the Scottish Executive and others to take all necessary steps to restore confidence in the airline industry, to protect against any such further job losses.
This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
