Australian Rugby League Tour

EDM number 234 in 2001-02, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 15/10/2001.

That this House notes with concern the reluctance of the Australian National Rugby League body to ensure that the tour to Great Britain by the Australian Rugby League national team takes place as scheduled; notes that a number of the members of the Australian team have expressed their concern in relation to visiting Great Britain due to the recent terrorist attacks and subsequent military actions but asks the Australian National team to reconsider their position so as not to give in to terrorism; and looks forward to the excitement and attraction of the first full tour by an Australian side in seven years whether as scheduled or a revised programme of three test matches.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
