That this House is alarmed at the spread of the so-called Women Empowering Women events; emphasises strongly that these are no more than pyramid selling scams; notes with concern that the Trading Standards Institute has identified the con in over 15 towns and cities; further notes that hundreds of women lost thousands of pounds due to the scam on the Isle of Wight; rejects the superficial attractiveness of the name; urges all women to steer clear of these rip-off events; and urges the Government to take action to both publicise the dangers of pyramid selling and to eradicate this most recent version.
