ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL'S WASTE POLICY

That this House congratulates Essex County Council for its policy of waste recycling, re-use and waste minimisation; welcomes its strategy of working with districts to ensure that they meet their recycling targets and encouraging businesses to develop markets for recycled products; calls on the Government to release the ú140 million they promised last year to councils for recycling; and calls on the Treasury to pay over to Essex, money raised from landfill tax, to pay for recycling schemes.
