Drambuie Competition

EDM number 1777 in 2001-02, proposed by Alistair Carmichael on 21/10/2002.

That this House condemns the decision of Drambuie International Limited to restrict entry to its 'Drambuie on Ice' competition to residents of the United Kingdom mainland only, thus excluding residents in the country's island communities; notes that this is despite the reliance of Drambuie on its island roots as 'The Skye Liqueur' in its marketing literature; calls on Drambuie International to make a full apology to the United Kingdom's island communities and to offer them the opportunity of participating in this competition; and calls on the House of Commons Refreshment Department to remove Drambuie from sale within the House until this is done.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
