Dairy Farming And Supermarkets

EDM number 1764 in 2001-02, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 16/10/2002.

That this House welcomes the decision taken by ASDA and Tesco to give an extra two pence per litre direct to dairy farmers for their milk; acknowledges the help and support given by these two supermarket chains; and looks forward to the same initiative to be taken by other supermarket chains to help dairy farmers through these difficult times and help to ensure British dairy farming has a sustainable future.
