Regulatory Burden On Business

EDM number 1728 in 2001-02, proposed by Tim Yeo on 24/09/2002.

That this House notes that the Regulatory Reform Act came into force in April 2001; further notes that in February this year the Prime Minister promised 260 regulatory reform orders in his regulatory action plan; notes also that only six regulatory reform orders have so far been approved; further notes that the greatest complaint of British business is the costs and burden of red tape and bureaucracy on their activities; and calls on the Government to deliver the commitments made by the Prime Minister in February and reduce the regulatory burden on business.

This motion has been signed by a total of 37 MPs.
