Success Of British Cycling

EDM number 1713 in 2001-02, proposed by Laurence Robertson on 24/07/2002.

That this House congratulates British cyclist David Millar on winning the 13th stage of the Tour de France, the world's most prestigious cycling event; hopes that this success will greatly encourage more young people to take up the sport of cycling; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to work with the governing bodies for cycling to help re-establish the round Britain cycle race which last took place in 1999.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs.
