57th Cheltenham International Festival Of Music

That this House congratulates the organisers of the fifty-seventh Cheltenham International Festival of Music on the exciting, innovative and wide-ranging programme they have devised; welcomes the participation in the festival of some of today's most distinguished musicians, including Sir Colin Davis, Maria Joao Pires, Andre Previn, Sir Thomas Allen, and Steven Isserlis as composer-in-residence; looks forward to hearing the premieres of new works by Simon Holt, Robin Holloway, Steve Reich and other leading contemporary composers; notes with gratitude the considerable financial support offered to the festival by companies, individuals, organisations and public sector bodies, which is so crucial to the festival's success; and expresses the hope that the festival fortnight will prove both enjoyable and stimulating for all concerned.
