British Olympic Football Teams
EDM number 168 in 2001-02, proposed by Tony Banks on 17/07/2001.
That this House supports the idea of British football teams for men and women being entered in the Olympic Games; hopes that discussions will be held between the British Olympic Association and the four home football associations in order that this might be achieved in time for the 2004 Athens Olympics; and takes comfort from the assurances given by Sepp Blatter, the President of FIFA, that British football teams in the Olympics will not affect the position of the four home countries in FIFA.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
