Tate Gallery

EDM number 1667 in 2001-02, proposed by Desmond Swayne on 18/07/2002.

That this House notes that the Tate Gallery paid ú22,300 for a work of art entitled 'Merda d'artista'; regrets this decision to acquire a tin of the faeces of a dead Italian artist; and calls on the gallery to reconsider whether this is a proper use of its funds.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
