POLAND'S CHARTER 21

EDM number 166 in 2001-02, proposed by Alan Simpson on 17/07/2001.

That this House congratulates Polish farmers and citizens in organising their Charter 21 manifesto for the countryside; welcomes the case they made in favour of their mosaic of family farms and strong regional markets, and the cautionary note they register about the downside of industrial food production; reinforces their call for a vision of agriculture that halts the accelerating collapse of global bio-diversity; and urges the EU to accept this position as a positive part of Poland's contribution to a wider European Community.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs.
