Flight Restrictions At Heathrow
EDM number 1651 in 2001-02, proposed by Joan Ruddock on 17/07/2002.
That this House believes that in the interests of the health of Londoners, the wider environment and regional airports in the United Kingdom, the number of flights using Heathrow Airport should be subject to an upper limit which does not exceed 480,000 per annum, as recommended by Roy Vandermeer, the inspector at the Terminal 5 Enquiry, when he gave the go-ahead to Terminal 5 in November 2001; and that the 16 flights using Heathrow between 11.30 p.m. and 6.00 a.m. should be discontinued.
