Mcgonagall Centenary Celebrations

EDM number 1649 in 2001-02, proposed by Iain Luke on 17/07/2002.

That this House notes that this year marks the centenary of the death of the poet and tragedian William Topaz McGonagall; notes that McGonagall's fame is associated with the great cities of Dundee and Edinburgh; further notes that he may well have been born in County Donegal thereby making him a truly international figure; welcomes the forthcoming celebrations to mark his centenary; and notes the continued popularity of his work throughout the world.

This motion has been signed by a total of 38 MPs.
