That this House expresses grave concern over the action of Equitable Life in slashing the value of pension funds, built up by nearly one million policy holders, by up to 16 per cent.; notes the worrying reports suggesting that other pension companies may follow suit in response to falling stock markets; and calls on the Government to respond to this latest crisis in the pensions industry.
