Air Ambulance Charities

EDM number 16 in 2001-02, proposed by Paul Truswell on 20/06/2001.

That this House applauds the vital frontline service provided by the 18 air ambulance charities operating in the United Kingdom; notes with concern that a majority of them continue to rely entirely on sponsorship by the Automobile Association and charitable fundraising; and calls upon the Government to recognise their invaluable and proven role by providing an appropriate level of public funding to each of them at the earliest opportunity.
