Graduate Teacher Programme And Norfolk
EDM number 1580 in 2001-02, proposed by Norman Lamb on 08/07/2002.
That this House notes with concern that only 23 training places have been allocated to Norfolk under the Graduate Teacher Programme, compared to 74 places last year; notes also that oral assurances appear to have been given to Norfolk County Council that a substantially higher number of places would be allocated; further notes that Norfolk schools are struggling to fill substantial numbers of vacancies; and calls on the Secretary of State to intervene so as to require the Teacher Training Agency to review its decision and allocate more training places in Norfolk.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
