leave out from 'cannabis' to end and add 'is a dangerous substance with serious psychological, social and health implications and can act as a gateway drug leading to even more dangerous drug abuse; and welcomes the Evening Standard's article of 17th June, 'Stoned and they are still only 10', which draws attention to the failure of the Lambeth experiment where the police hae taken a softer approach to cannabis possession and, as a result, there has been an increase in the use of cannabis by school children, often the most vulnerable children, who are being offered skunk cannabis which is more powerful than most types, and local doctors and youth workers are now seeing an increasing number of young people suffering from breathing and psychological problems; acknowledges that if cannabis was legalised for adults, this would bring about an increase in serious health and social problems among young people; and therefore calls on Her Majesty's Government to listen to youth workers who say that 'working class children (under the Lambeth experiment) are being turned into 'stoned imbecilic criminals' and that the Lambeth experiment should be dropped in favour of rigorous policing.'.
