Delivery Of Pension Books
EDM number 1397 in 2001-02, proposed by Kerry Pollard on 10/06/2002.
That this House regrets the recent delays in returning pension books following updating by benefits Agency offices in the south-east of England; rejects the decision by the Benefits Agency to opt for cheaper, less reliable delivery methods; believes that pensioners whose books are still missing should not have to wait for a Postal Management Group Report before any steps are taken to resolve the problem; and calls on the Government to introduce more efficient and reliable delivery methods to ensure that all pensioners can draw the pensions to which they are entitled.
