That this House is disturbed by reports that the Government intend to change the procedure for the approval of GM seeds for use in the United Kingdom and to restrict the rights of members of the public to object to such potential approval; believes that it is imperative that the strongest possible tests and investigation be undertaken before any such seeds are approved for use in the United Kingdom; and calls upon the Government to re-affirm its commitment to the existing system.
