George Fisher

EDM number 1300 in 2001-02, proposed by Ronnie Campbell on 14/05/2002.

That this House expresses its sorrow for the Fisher family, whose son died last year after being mown down by a drug-fuelled hit and run driver who got a four year prison sentence; supports their campaign to make a change in the law to implement harsher sentences on people found guilty of driving under the influence of narcotics and to create a new offence of vehicle homicide for anyone convicted of killing someone by knocking them down; believes that the current law regarding driving under the influence of mind-altering substances is too lenient; and calls for changes in the law to be implemented.

This motion has been signed by a total of 60 MPs.
