Prevention Of Humanitarian Assistance On The West Bank And Gaza

EDM number 1272 in 2001-02, proposed by Lynne Jones on 09/05/2002.

That this House notes that the Israeli Government has imposed restrictions on the West Bank and Gaza since 1997; further notes that all Palestinian cities are occupied and remain under curfew and that this is preventing people's access to basic needs such as food and water and children's access to schools; further notes the statement by UNICEF that the denial of safe access for humanitarian organisations continues to be the main obstacle to providing assistance to the Palestinian communities; and supports UNICEF's call on Israeli authorities to end the curfews and guarantee that women and children receive safe access to their basic needs.

This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs.
