Liverpool Carthorse Monument

EDM number 1233 in 2001-02, proposed by Edward O'Hara on 01/05/2002.

That this House congratulates the Liverpool Carters' Association on their proposal to erect a life-size monument in bronze of a carthorse to celebrate the 250 years of service given by these noble animals to the port of Liverpool and to the country; thanks those who have already donated towards the costs; urges all those who remember the carthorses with nostalgia, affection and gratitude to contribute generously to the project; and looks forward to seeing the Liverpool Carthorse Monument become a landmark of historic Liverpool.
