Invalid Care Allowance

EDM number 117 in 2001-02, proposed by Paul Burstow on 11/07/2001.

That this House welcomes the Government's October 2000 announcement which proposed changes to invalid care allowance; acknowledges the fact that the extension of claims to invalid care allowance to carers aged 65 and over, continuing invalid care allowance for up to eight weeks after the death of the person being cared for will require legislation; notes the lack of any such announcement in Her Majesty's Gracious Address; and therefore calls upon the Government to bring forward the changes at the earliest opportunity.

This motion has been signed by a total of 66 MPs.
