Mr William Duffin

EDM number 1161 in 2001-02, proposed by Paul Daisley on 19/04/2002.

That this House is concerned by the Conservative Party decision to allow Mr William Duffin to stand as a Conservative candidate in the London Borough of Brent, following being found guilty of maladministration by the Ombudsman after he intervened on behalf of his then employer to allow planning permission to be given to a public house owned by his employer; notes that 24 hours after the decision was made ú2000 was paid by his employers into the Brent Conservative Party; calls on the Conservative Party Chairman, the honourable Member for Haltemprice and Howden, publicly to disown Mr William Duffin as a candidate; and notes that no record of payment by the Conservatives into a local Brent charity, as agreed, has been made public.

This motion has been signed by a total of 1 MPs.
