Falklands Memorial Cairn

EDM number 1156 in 2001-02, proposed by Lady Hermon on 18/04/2002.

That this House marks the 20th anniversary of the Falklands War and remembers the 258 service and civilian men and women killed in fighting to liberate the Falkland Islands in 1982; supports the Stone From Home project launched on 2nd April inviting anyone who wishes to bring or send a stone to the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel at Pangbourne in Berkshire; and considers that a unique memorial cairn built from all the personal stones received will be a worthy and tangible act of remembrance.

This motion has been signed by a total of 39 MPs.
