Cleaning Up London

EDM number 1151 in 2001-02, proposed by Paul Daisley on 18/04/2002.

That this House encourages all London authorities to work together strategically to ensure best practice is applied right across the capital to clean up London and welcomes specifically the Capital Standards campaign for street cleansing, which will tackle at a London-wide level the issues of litter, graffiti, dog fouling and fly tipping and will include enforcement training for officers, an advertising campaign and education material for schools; further welcomes those authorities which are supporting this London-wide initiative by the Mayor; and condemns Wandsworth, Kensington and Chelsea, Bexley, Bromley and Kingston which have refused to join this war on litter, thus jeopardising the London-wide school and advertising campaign.

This motion has been signed by a total of 27 MPs.
