Medway Queen Paddle Steamer

EDM number 1123 in 2001-02, proposed by Jonathan Shaw on 15/04/2002.

That this House notes that the Medway Queen is the only estuary paddle steamer left in the United Kingdom; further notes that she played an historic role during the Second World War evacuation of Dunkirk, where she carried 7,000 allied troops to safety; and believes that the Medway Queen preservation Society's ambitions to fully restore her to good working order would be greatly advanced if the National Historic Ships Committee would reconsider its decision and place her in the A list of historic ships.

This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs.
