Romina The Gorilla

That this House congratulates Jenny Watts, an ophthalmologist from the NHS Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester on the outstanding work carried out on Romina the gorilla in restoring her sight; notes that no gorilla in Europe has previously undergone surgery for cataracts and pays tribute to the commitment and dedication of all the staff of both the Bristol University Veterinary School and the Royal Hampshire Hospital in successfully carrying out the operation which will enable Romina to enjoy a full and happy life in her new home a Bristol zoo; and further wishes success to the international breeding programme for gorillas, of which Romina is part, in boosting the population of this endangered species.
