Social Security (Disability Living Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations 2002
EDM number 1113 in 2001-02, proposed by Alan Meale on 11/04/2002.
That this House is disappointed that Her Majesty's Government have decided to lay before Parliament new lower rate mobility regulations, despite advice given to them by the Social Security Advisory Committee not to do so; believes that if the proposed regulatory changes are approved many people with visual or hearing impairment, epilepsy or incontinence are likely to lose their current lower rate mobility allowances; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to rethink its strategy on this matter, which if introduced would cause severe difficulties to many disabled and vulnerable people.
