Lpg Vehicles

EDM number 1069 in 2001-02, proposed by HELEN CLARK on 25/03/2002.

That this House believes that the fact that there are now more than 65,000 vehicles in the UK propelled by liquefied petroleum gas is a sign that the public increasingly recognises the environmental and health benefits of LPG over petrol and diesel; notes the significant contribution that a switch to LPG from diesel could make to improving air quality and, from petrol, to reducing carbon dioxide emissions; and welcomes the announcement of ú1million for the Boost Programme in favour of LPG and the continuing investment, so far representing over ú30 million, by fuel distributors in LPG pumps, who now number more than 1,000 throughout the country.

This motion has been signed by a total of 60 MPs.
