Oneword

EDM number 101 in 2001-02, proposed by HELEN CLARK on 10/07/2001.

That this House congratulates the digital national commercial channel Oneword on its award as Sony Radio Station of the Year 2001; welcomes its pioneering format as the champion of the spoken word and its rich provision of programmes for children; and urges that any future BBC digital national radio channel should be sanctioned by the Department of Culture Media and Sport only on the basis that they are clearly distinct from existing formats.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
