That this House congratulates the Energy in the Community project in Thurnscoe on its second anniversary; notes the excellent partnership between the energy company TXU, who funds and manages the project, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Groundwork Dearne Valley; welcomes the free energy efficiency measures and the subsequent financial savings and environmental improvements this has brought to people living in Thurnscoe; and believes that the project could serve as a model for other regeneration initiatives throughout the country.
