Domestic Electricity Charges In Scotland
EDM number 577 in 2000-01, proposed by David Marshall on 09/04/2001.
That this House welcomes the announcement by Ofgem that it is taking steps to introduce the British Electricity Transmission and Trading Arrangements, which are designed to bring greater competition to the Scottish market; regrets that Scottish consumers have not benefited in the same way as consumers in England and Wales; and looks forward to more competition and lower prices for domestic electricity in Scotland, whilst always bearing in mind the need to maintain the highest standards of safety and service.
