Rate Relief For Small Businesses Affected By Foot And Mouth
EDM number 525 in 2000-01, proposed by David Rendel on 03/04/2001.
That this House notes that there are many small businesses suffering as a result of the foot and mouth outbreak outside as well as inside those areas designated 'highly infected', and that inadequate government grants over several years have left many local authorities without the resources to afford business rate relief unless it is refunded by central government; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to widen the scope of the Rural Task Force's proposals for business rate relief so that all councils are appropriately refunded.
This motion has been signed by a total of 43 MPs.
