Rosemary Nelson Inquiry

That this House notes that Thursday 15th March marks the second anniversary of the death of human rights lawyer, Rosemary Nelson, killed as a result of a bomb explosion beneath her car in Lurgan, County Armagh; notes that to date nobody has been brought to justice for her murder; notes that in the months before her death, Ms Nelson's professional work representing the interests of the Garvaghy Road Residents' Coalition, the family of murder victim Robert Hamill, the miscarriage of justice victim Colin Duffy and other nationalists in her area became the focus of threats to her life she alleges were conveyed by members of the RUC; notes that an international campaign for an independent judicial inquiry has been supported by the Irish Government, the European Parliament, the United States House of Representatives, Amnesty International and other respected non-governmental organisations; notes that a candlelight vigil is to be held at 10 Downing Street on 15th March; and further urges the Government to establish such an inquiry without delay.
