One World Trust, 50th Anniversary

That this House notes that the One World Trust, which was formed by the All-Party Group for World Government on 23rd February 1951, celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year; recognises its continuing role ensuring that schools are able to teach global citizenship in a positive and meaningful way; notes with gratitude the positive role it has played in this House in raising awareness of the importance of the United Nations and the need for democratic reform of that organisation and other international institutions; commends the Trust for the role it played during the negotiations culminating in the International Law of the Sea; further commends the Trust for its sterling work as part of the NGO Coalition working to steer the International Criminal Court into being; congratulates the Trust on the continuing success of Charter 99 - The Charter for Global Democracy; and believes that the world is a safer and more just place to live in because of its efforts and hopes that it will continue to work for positive change for the next 50 years.
