Employment At Valor Heating

EDM number 366 in 2000-01, proposed by Robin Corbett on 26/02/2001.

That this House notes the threat to the future of Valor Heating following its acquisition; is concerned at the possible loss of yet more of Birmingham's manufacturing capacity which has included Parkinson Cowan, Metro Cammell Weyman and Dunlop Tyres; and calls upon Birmingham City Council, Advantage West Midlands and the Government to work together to assist the restructuring of this important company and the 400 jobs jobs its provides.
