That this House congratulates Professor David Wynford-Thomas, leader of the thyroid tumour biology research group at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, on his research group's breakthrough in the treatment of cancer; notes that their research will enable scientists to track the process of cancer development and identify the signals that cause inappropriate cell multiplication; applauds the fact that scientists in Wales have managed to recreate the first stages of cancer which will significantly improve the development of new cancer drugs; and applauds Cancer Research Campaign Wales for funding and supporting such important developments.
