Reading Gaol
EDM number 28 in 2000-01, proposed by Jane Griffiths on 06/12/2000.
That this House congratulates Reading Borough Council, the Arts Council of England and the Governor of Reading Gaol, on the centenary of the death of Oscar Wilde, on their collaboration in commissioning a work by the artists Bruce Williams and Paul Muldoon at the foot of the wall of Reading Gaol as a fitting memorial to the beautiful genius Oscar Wilde; and calls upon the Government to continue to work to promote tolerance and inclusiveness in the new century.
